Editorial policy

This page sets out who writes boricen.online, how we decide that something is true, how the site is paid for, what we will not publish whatever it pays, and how to make us fix a mistake.

Who writes this site

boricen.online is published by ARARATCOMPANY s.r.o.. The director of publication and responsible editor is Nancy Wilson, who writes the articles and is answerable for everything published here.

Every article carries a named byline, a publication date and, where it has been revisited, a review date. We do not publish anonymous articles, and we do not publish text written by an advertiser under one of our bylines. If an article is ever contributed by someone else, that person is named in the byline.

How we establish facts

1. Primary sources first. For a game, that means the publisher's own website, patch notes and store listings, and the game as installed and played.
2. Hands-on before opinion. We do not describe how a game feels to play unless the editor has played it.
3. Cite what we used. Articles carry a sources section naming what the claims rest on.
4. Hedge what we cannot verify. If we are not certain of a figure, we either leave it out or say plainly that it is uncertain. We would rather have a gap than a confident invention.
5. No numbers without a source. We do not print player counts, download sizes, system requirements, review scores or market shares that we cannot attribute to a primary source, because those figures change and stale precision reads as authority it has not earned.
6. The publisher prevails. Live games change constantly. Where our page and the game's publisher disagree, the publisher's information is correct and ours is out of date.

How the site is funded

By advertising. Some links here are partner links (also called affiliate links): if you install a game after following one, the advertiser may pay us a commission. It never costs you anything extra, and it does not change the offer you receive.

How we label it:

• a disclosure bar at the very top of every page,
• a disclosure box immediately after the headline of any article containing partner links, before any promotional content,
• the words partner link on every commercial button, including the ones in the sidebar,
• a note under each button repeating that we may earn a commission and that you pay nothing extra,
• the technical markers rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" on every commercial link, so that search engines can identify them as paid.

Advertiser independence

• Advertisers do not see articles before publication, and cannot approve, amend or veto them.
• Commission rates play no part in what we cover or what we conclude. We have no arrangement in which a higher payout buys a better assessment.
• Criticism stays in. A page that carries a download button also carries what is wrong with the product: the existence of a real-money store, the slowdown in progression, and who the game is not for.
• If we are ever paid to publish a specific piece of content, it will be labelled as sponsored content at the top of the page, in those words. Nothing on this site is currently sponsored content.
• We accept no payment for a positive review, no payment to remove criticism, and no payment for links inside editorial text that are not disclosed as partner links.

What we refuse to do

• No fabricated testimonials. No invented reader stories, no made-up quotes, no "a reader wrote to us" framing for text we wrote ourselves.
• No invented ratings. No star ratings, scores or "rated 4.8 by players" figures that we cannot source. Aggregate scores we quote are attributed to whoever produced them.
• No artificial urgency. No countdown timers, no "offer ends tonight", no "only 3 places left", no fake stock or fake demand.
• No guaranteed-result claims. We do not promise you will win, earn, rank up or enjoy anything, and we do not present entertainment as an investment.
• No fake authority. No invented awards, no borrowed logos, no implication of a relationship with a publisher or platform that does not exist.
• No dark patterns. No disguised advertisements, no buttons that pretend to be system dialogues, no pop-ups that interrupt the article.
• No data collection by stealth. The absence of tracking on this site is a policy, not an oversight; see the cookie policy.

Trade marks and third-party material

Game names and logos belong to their owners and are used descriptively. We do not use publishers' screenshots, artwork or promotional imagery: every illustration on this site is an original SVG diagram made by us for the page it appears on. That is both a copyright decision and an editorial one — a diagram that explains a mechanic is worth more than a marketing screenshot.

Corrections procedure

We will get things wrong. When that happens:

1. Write to info@boricen.online with the page address and what is wrong. A link to a primary source helps but is not required.
2. We aim to acknowledge within three working days.
3. We check the claim against primary sources. If you are right, we correct the page.
4. For a substantive correction — anything that changes the meaning of a passage, not a typo — we add a dated correction note at the foot of the article saying what was wrong and what it now says. We do not quietly delete errors.
5. If we conclude the page is right, we reply and explain why.

Complaints about advertising or about this policy go to the same address and are answered by the responsible editor.

Updating and retiring pages

Pages about live games are reviewed periodically, and the review date is shown on each article. When a page becomes obsolete we update it or mark it as historical rather than leaving it to mislead. Old addresses keep working: if we move a page, the previous URL points to the new one.
